Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park is located in Ungasan Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali. GWK is about 20 km from Denpasar and can be reached in about 30-40 minutes by motorized vehicle from Ngurah Rai Airport. GWK is one of Bali's most iconic cultural tourist destinations, famous for its giant statue of Lord Vishnu riding Garuda, by Indonesian sculptor maestro I Nyoman Nuarta. The Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, with a height of 121 meters including the base, is one of the tallest statues in the world. It depicts Lord Vishnu, considered the protector of the universe in Hinduism, riding the mythological bird Garuda, which symbolizes loyalty and devotion.
