Galungan Day in Badung, Bali, is a holy Hindu celebration that symbolizes the victory of dharma (good) against adharma (evil). Celebrated once every 210 days based on the Pawukon calendar, Galungan is an important moment for the Badung people to pray and ask for blessings to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa. Since morning, temples throughout Badung, including Pura Sada Kapal and Pura Taman Ayun, are filled with devotees wearing traditional clothing to pray together.

The atmosphere in Badung during Galungan is very distinctive with penjor decorations lining the streets. Penjor, a curved bamboo decorated with janur and crops, symbolizes gratitude for God's grace. People also prepare various offerings, including banten galungan, which contains various foods and spiritual symbols. This tradition is not just a ritual, but also reflects the harmony between humans, nature and God.

In addition to worship, Galungan in Badung is also a place for family gatherings. Many migrants return home to celebrate with their relatives. After praying, they visit each other and enjoy typical dishes such as lawar, babi guling, and jaje uli. This celebration not only strengthens spiritual values but also strengthens family and community ties in Badung.
